Parking Lot Lighting Case Study
In 2004, the National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) was looking for a way to retrofit their existing employee parking lot. Over the years, the infrastructure at NIST included a vast array of fiber optic networks that ran below and through the employee parking lot. There was concern over trenching the lot because of sensitive fiber optics below the surface. Sol was able to resolve this concern by installing 30 TPM shoebox solar lighting systems without a connection to conventional power, allowing a safe, secure and worry-free environment for NIST employees.
