First of many solar lights are installed in Haiti

Our team from Sol, Inc. landed in Haiti the other day and have started to install lights. We are receiving updates on a daily basis from staff member Mario Gonzalez who recently reported that the first solar light was installed at the Port-au-Prince airport.

The conditions that they are working under are rough and our guys should be applauded for the great work they are doing over there.  Thankfully they are with a military convoy who are providing security while they get the solar lights installed.  Their next stop is the General Hospital.

Pictured below are Sol, Inc. staff Mario Gonzalez and team leader Victor Sotolongo, an ex-marine and registered nurse who has been hired by Sol, Inc. to lead the logistics on this relief effort.

Help Haiti Earthquake Victims - Donate a Solar Light

You Can Help Earthquake Victims in Haiti!

Donate a Tropical Solar Light System to the disaster relief efforts in Haiti and Sol Inc. will make a matching donation of a second lighting system. Sol is offering a special price of the TSL Systems for the donation program which has been set up on its new site www.solincstore.com

Simply click on Solar Lights for Haiti and it will take you to a special page where you can purchase a Tropical Solar Light System that will be donated to the Haiti Earthquake Relief effort. Along with your donation, Sol will match your donation with another system. The cost of the system has been drastically reduced to encourage supporters to assist earthquake vitims in Haiti.

The solar lights will be used to light relief aid areas such as the triage, food distribution areas and along roadways leading into to downtown Port-au-Prince. The systems are completely remote and are easily installed, making them a valuable asset to volunteers and relief workers assisting victims during evening hours as well as providing safety and security to families affected by this devastating earthquake.

SOL INC. DONATING SOLAR LIGHTS TO HAITIAN RELIEF EFFORTS

Yesterday afternoon a 7.0-magnitude earthquake centered in Haiti's capital, Port-au-Prince, caused thousands of buildings to collapse and has trapped an untold number of victims. This is the most powerful earthquake that has hit Haiti in over 200 years. When earthquakes, tornadoes and other disasters hit, one of the first amenities to disappear is safety and security that power and light provide. People are in the dark and need help!

After hearing about this horrible disaster in Haiti, the Sol Inc. team has once again rolled up our sleeves to help those less fortunate. Right now our production team is assembling solar light systems and others are trying to find shipping and organizations to partner with to ensure our solar light systems are installed.  Our goal is to get the solar lights up and running as soon as possible so that relief efforts can be provided during dark hours and allow victims to feel safe and secure in the dark.

How can you help? Here is a list of contact information and links for some agencies that plan to provide relief. Sol Inc. does not certify the charities’ fund allocations or administrative costs.

Happy 2010!

It is hard to believe that 2009 is over. What a year it has been for all. For some it was the toughest year in decades and for others it was transitional to say the least. For us at Sol, it was a remarkable year. Why? Change...from new hires to new products, Sol has seen quite a bit of change over the year.

Our group of resellers know as SLSP or Solar Lighting Solution Professionals have been expanding and we are reaching out to assist more customers than ever before. Our R&D team have been busy creating new products like the aiSUN™, an innovative combination of a solar energy charge controller and high efficacy LED drivere into one module.  This one unit alone is leading the the way solar lights are controlled. Our LEDs can now be pre-programmed to allow customers to configure their lights to operate in many different modes. One of the modes allows a near infinate combination of lighting levels, operating times and brightness levels. Say goodbye to just on and off...now the lights can do what you want, when you want.  And don't get me started on motion detecting capabilties.

I know this sounds like a promo piece but this little controller has really made a difference in what our solar lights can do. The possibilities are endless. The aiSUN™ truely rocks!

Getting back to 2010, we are expanding and setting lofty goals for the year. Change is the forecast for the year and we hope good changes are ahead fo all. Check our our careers section: http://www.solarlightingusa.com/careers.html, you never know when a new position may come up that you might be perfect for. Let's all stay positive and do our part to help our local economy to make 2010 a better year!

Happy New Year!
