In the second quarter of 2009, Los Angles Air Force Base required security lighting at one if its three family housing locations in San Pedro, California. As part of a mandate to increase security and force protection, the LA Air Force Base asked SOL if they could provide a solution for their security needs. They needed a system that would be independent of the grid and allow security forces to see along the perimeter at any time of day. SOL provided a solution with their new solar perimeter security system.
On Providing immediate security for airport and U.S. Customs employees was the primary reason these solar lights were specified. The patented lights meet code, they take one-fifth the time of conventional lights to install and they can easily be relocated in two to three years when construction is finished.
