In 2005 a major outdoor advertising contract was awarded to Trans Ad for the placement approximately 100 advertising shelters in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Since there was no access to power the lights in the shelters, a decision was made to use solar lighting for the advertising shelters. Trans Ad looked to Tolar Manufacturing, who provided a turnkey solution with their shelter advertising kiosks that utilized SOL’s Transit Shelter Ad Lighting (TSAL).
